How we verify

15 October 2026 · Setnova Advisory LLC

Setnova Advisory's work is AI-assisted and principal-reviewed: AI-assisted tools are used for drafts, calculations and documents, separate checks test the result, and I review every figure and finding in a document before it is released. The Morning Brief is checked by the separate number check described below. This page sets out those checks, what they have caught, and what they do not mean.

One written standard

The figures and documents I produce pass through a written verification standard: one canonical data object, automated cross-checks on every build, two separate review passes against that standard — one on the work and one on the reviewer, run by AI under my direction — and a standing log of the classes of error it has caught.

A separate number check

Before a release is posted or sent, a separate check sources every figure in it again. Each market level is checked against the source named for it, for example the U.S. Treasury or the Federal Reserve. Bank figures are checked against the FDIC's Call Report data. Arithmetic is recomputed. A figure that cannot be traced to its source stops the release unless I release it in writing, figure by figure.

A separate wording check

A second check reads every new or changed sentence against two registers: the firm's register of what it may say about itself, and its confirmed offer terms. It is not legal advice and does not replace counsel.

Checks written in code

The Morning Brief's mechanical checks run as a script rather than as the AI's own reading. Its self-test plants past defects, which must keep failing, and an archive of the brief's past editions must give its recorded result. Both run automatically on every change to the checks. The brief's production instructions are pinned to a fixed version, so they change in production only when they are deliberately re-pinned. A rewrite of those instructions ran as a shadow beside production on 13 October before it was switched in.

The Morning Brief is checked before it is sent

Every market figure in the Morning Brief comes from the source the brief names for it, dated to the as-of printed beside it. If that source cannot be reached, the figure is left out rather than estimated.

From 8 to 14 October 2026 the number check ran on each morning's brief without the power to stop it, and it held the brief on four of the five mornings. Among the errors it found were a Treasury auction described as a reopening when it was a new issue, and a single as-of date printed over figures that carried different dates. Each was fixed where the brief is made, with a new rule or a check in code.

Since 15 October the number check runs before the brief is sent. A held brief is corrected once and checked again by a fresh check; if it still does not pass, nothing is sent. If the first check cannot return a verdict in time, the brief is sent to me alone, flagged as unverified. On 15 October it checked 320 figures and found no mismatch. Public distribution has not started yet.

The Treasury Desk

The Treasury Desk was red-teamed, re-verified, and the three engine defects found were fixed on 20 September 2026. Its source carries 439 automated tests. The demonstration on this site is pre-computed from the Desk and carries no calculation engine.

Checks on the checks

A separate watchdog checks the sent record twice each weekday and emails an alert on a miss. Files a working session saves to the firm's workspace are re-read and compared byte for byte.

Accessibility

Each release of the site is checked with an automated accessibility engine (axe-core, WCAG 2.1 A and AA rule set) and with a keyboard-only pass through every link and control before it is published.

What this does not mean

These checks test the firm's own work against its own sources, its claims register and its confirmed offer terms. They are not an audit, a certification or a regulator's review, and they do not replace your institution's own review of anything it relies on.
